Jane Adam has an international reputation for her unique jewellery in dyed, anodised aluminium. Most famously, her jewellery was worn by Emma Thompson in hit film, Love, Actually. Jane’s delicately coloured and shaped pieces are the result of more than thirty years of experimentation and innovation in colour, texture and form.

Jane uses the nature of her material itself to create form and texture through stressing and distortion. However, she is most concerned with how the finished piece feels when it is worn. Her jewellery comes alive when it finds its wearer, forming a sensual relationship with them and becoming part of their expression of self.

Titanium is permanently coloured and hardwearing. The anodic film added by Jane to her jewellery is colourless, hard and inert, and is chemically bonded to the metal from which it has grown. It cannot flake or peel off. As such, it is completely resistant to scratching and abrasion.

Jane’s jewellery is very widely exhibited, from the Cooper Hewitt Museum of Design, New York to Birmingham’s Museum and Art Gallery, the British Council and Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh USA. She has lectured in jewellery making at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and for the prestigious Society of Jewellery Historians in London. A wide range of magazines have covered her classy and collectable jewellery, including Craft and Design, Interior World and Homes and Antiques.
